From the moment we stepped onboard, the atmosphere was electric. The ship is filled with vibrant, confident adults who are there to dance, flirt with life a little, and enjoy themselves.This isn’t the quiet, slow-paced crowd you’ll find on certain premium lines. It’s adults-only fun with a pulse. Daytime lounging, nighttime dancing, and a steady stream of entertainment that leans bold and playful. If you want a cruise that keeps you awake in the best way, Scarlet Lady delivers.If you prefer silence and slow movement, this won’t be your ship. If you’re open-minded and ready for energy? It’s perfect.Cabins: Compact, Techy, and FunctionalWe stayed in an Ocean Sea View cabin. Spacious? Not really. Efficient? Absolutely.The tablet-controlled lighting and curtains were fun, though the charging setup meant getting out of bed more often than I wanted. Storage was solid, the cabin was spotless, and the full-length mirror made getting ready a breeze.If you’re someone who runs warm, bring a portable fan. The AC works, but Virgin cabins run on the gentler side.One note for friends sharing: Virgin’s L-shaped split bed setup isn’t ideal unless you enjoy breathing each other’s air at 2 a.m. It was tolerable, but next time, I’ll adjust the layout.Dining: Elevated Food + Daily IndulgencesVirgin’s “No Buffet” marketing is clever, but let’s be honest, there’s a buffet. And we enjoyed it every morning. The fruit bento boxes were a daily obsession.For specialty dining:
• The Wake – So good we went twice.
• Pink Agave – Great atmosphere and strong flavors.
• Extra Virgin – Delicious Italian and one of our favorites.
• Gunbae – Fun show, spicy items, and group seating. If you’re picky or introverted, this might not be your best fit.The real winners?
The snacks and sweets. Fruity Pebbles rice krispy treats dipped in white chocolate. Ice cream we hunted down daily. Coffee that rivaled land-based cafés. Virgin is not shy about appealing to your inner child while serving you like an adult.Entertainment: Nightlife That Actually DeliversEvening shows were a highlight—high-energy, creative, and unique to Virgin’s personality. A few must-dos:• 80’s Night & Sing-Along – Absolutely not to be missed.
• Scarlet Night – The dancing, the music, the full-ship energy shift. One of the best theme nights at sea.
• Piano Bar & The Club – Great for winding down or ramping up, depending on your mood.Daytime was mostly lounging for us. Music starts calm and builds into a lively afternoon atmosphere, with quieter spots available if you need a break.Ports & What We DidWe kept it simple and prioritized rest on this trip.Puerto Plata, DR – Stayed in the port area with shops, bars, music, and a lazy river. We grabbed swings at a bar, ordered daiquiris, and people-watched for hours.
San Juan, PR – Explored Old San Juan, saw two forts, walked until the rain came, then headed back onboard. Easy and refreshing.
St. Croix, USVI – A resort day pass right near the port. Great beach, great pool, and a fantastic low-pressure experience.
Beach Club at Bimini – Tram ride over, started on the beach, wrapped up at the pool. Sun, drinks, music, classic Virgin vibes.Every port gave us variety without exhausting us. Ideal for a recharge trip.Who Virgin Voyages Is ForBased on this sailing, Virgin works best for:
